Reflection - Week 1

WELCOME TO MY WORLD OF BLOGGING!

Before this course, I had realised an important factor of becoming a learning manager is to broaden your knowledge and reflect highly upon several learning theories. Reading through this week though has built upon my prior experiences. Something that I hope each and every course will do, extend and refine!

After testing my own learning styles, I found that although different sources will provide different pathways to a result, our individual learning styles are embedded into our lifestyle and subconscious thoughts. We do it every day and I also believe in multiple ways. Yes, we are all diverse learners - from the moment we are born right until the end. My goal is to improve my weakest styles in order to best teach for others (Ive attached my results from two different sources).

Knowing how we best learn is so important to consider especially when your a classroom teacher. So many diverse children in the room, all with different learning styles. As a learning manager, I need to be able to provide knowledge for all my students (even if it isnt my preferred style). With sufficient resources and incorporating ICT, I will be able to cater for my students by presenting information to them in a variety of styles.  Therefore each and every learner is provided with the opportunity for them to best learn.

Furthermore I found this weeks presented ideas directed focus onto technology in our present day generation. Not only is it important for us as learning managers to be able to utilise technology, but also use it as a source to improve our teaching and learning. Technology is so valuable and is definitely a necessity for all teachers.

I'm really looking forward to delve more into eLearning and unwrap its tech savvy pathways for education. This weeks learning experiences have been quite full on. Learning a completely different course and the purpose and motivation behind it can be quite daunting. It definitely has been overwhelming for me this week, making my very first blog and whatnot, although I do look forward to the next coming weeks. Even for myself as a young person, I think it will be a challenge to adjust and learn new ways of eLearning, but its definitely one I'm willing to take on!
